Yandex successfully trains over 25,000 tech professionals in 2024
In 2024, over 25,000 developers, data analysts, machine learning specialists, and AI experts completed Yandex's educational programs. They participated in joint programs with Russian universities, attended the School of Data Analysis, engaged in IT courses at Practicum, and studied at the Yandex Lyceum and seasonal schools. Additionally, they completed internships at the company.
Nearly 60,000 future tech professionals participated in Yandex's educational programs in 2024. The company collaborates with 33 partner universities across 12 regions of the country. The number of students enrolled in Yandex's bachelor's, master's, and postgraduate programs, along with the School of Data Analysis, more than doubled compared to the previous academic year, exceeding 10,000 individuals. These students are poised to become highly qualified professionals in technology and computer science, equipped with practical skills in tech product development and a strong background in math.

To train tech professionals who are in demand in the labor market — those who can start working immediately and effectively solve professional problems, create large-scale IT products, and develop new technologies — you have to involve experts from major tech companies. Yandex employees actively teach in university programs — the number of teaching staff has tripled since 2021. We teach what we know: algorithms and data analysis, unmanned technologies, machine learning, generative neural networks, and computer vision.
In total, 5 million people participated in Yandex's educational projects and programs last academic year. Besides training programs for tech professionals, the company offers educational products and projects for schoolchildren. In the 2023/2024 academic year, over 1.2 million children and teenagers studied on the Yandex Textbook platform, including computer science courses. More than 100,000 high school students who took the Unified State Exam in computer science (85% of all exam takers) prepared for the exam using our AI simulator.
